Public Art at the Spartanburg Library
Public Art: The Electric Art Project is an ongoing initiative lead by HUB-BUB to convert traffic signal utility boxes into works of public art. Currently, 9 boxes have been completed, 8 in partnership with College Town and 1 in partnership with the Spartanburg County Public Library System. The Library box was designed by Roderice Cardell, who also goes by TheMadddArtist. Read the full article here.

“There’s no point at which we reach capacity for public art,” Kocher said. “There’s no point that we say, ‘And now, we have enough.’ Public art is about the continuing transformation of our community. I think these boxes right now are a moment to signal some of that.”
